Mills Creek
Mills Creek is a quiet timberland tract set on a gravel road along the Laurens/Newberry County line. This very rural location makes a great place for hunting, ATV riding or any other excuse to get away from it all. The property holds deer, quail, and rabbits. Access is great with multiple entry points from the county road onto good internal roads.
About 140 acres of loblolly pines were planted in 2019. These advanced genetics seedlings are free from hardwood competition and growing fast. A little more than 30 acres of older pines were established in 1996 and have been thinned twice and among the pines are a few small openings.
Mills Creek is a year-round stream that crosses the land for more than 2,000 feet. Older hardwoods and pines line the banks and fan out into low areas along the creek. A rocky ford provides access to the back part of the property.
Electric lines are present at homes along Poplar Spring Road near the southeast corner. The property has more than 4,000 feet of frontage along the county gravel road.
The tract lies about 21 miles from Newberry, 22 miles from Laurens, 56 miles from either Greenville or Spartanburg and 65 miles from Columbia. All distances are approximate road miles to center of town.
