John has been a Licensed Real Estate Agent since 2001 and a licensed Forester since 1988. He moved from an Associate Broker to a Broker in January 2017 and is a Broker in Maine and the Designated Broker in New Hampshire for AFM Real Estate (American Forest Management). He specializes in large land sales, recreation lands, timber investment properties, waterfront, islands, and commercial properties.

Outside of work, John enjoys skiing, golfing, snowshoeing, hiking, watching a Boston Bruins game, and hanging out with his wife of 31+ years and adult kids. He has volunteered countless hours coaching local youth hockey and Little League baseball teams over the years. John's easygoing personality has made him a Top Producer (AFM Real Estate company award) in the State of Maine for over 20 years. John states, "In my experience as a Maine real estate professional, providing the very best service is essentially about putting my clients first. This means being accessible, a good listener, and a good communicator who responds quickly to the client's needs, as well as being proactive in providing important information needed to make the right decisions. When it comes to land, being a licensed Forester is a great asset. This 'client first' philosophy has always been my approach, and it requires me to continually improve my skills and way of doing business."

""I am delighted to provide this reference for John Colannino as a licensed real estate broker. John handled the sale of a woodlot in Maine for me. As I had inherited the property, I did not know much about it, including how to access it properly, but John handled everything in a manner that was efficient and painless for me. He scouted it and set a proper price, as judged by the assortment of bids that he was able to attract, including one full-price offer. Throughout the process, John kept me informed and answered all of my questions quickly and accurately. He could not have been more helpful. I think there are several types of real estate agents. Some try to make the quickest sale with the least effort, while others see their role as an advisor and advocate for their clients. John is in the latter category. He sees the big picture and builds relationships with his clients rather than going for quick sales. He listened to all of my concerns and provided proper pushback or perspective when needed. Even after the sale, John has been a huge resource to me. When I needed help finding a forester to do a small job for me on another property, John connected me with the foresters in the company. There is no doubt he would help me with whatever I might ask of him in the future. I would give John the highest possible rating.""

""I have worked with John Colannino for almost a year and can state with certainty that he is the most hard-working and honest Broker I have ever worked with. He found the kind of property I was looking for, pushed through the acquisition, and followed up on all issues. He helped me find all the professionals; he even marked trails so we could access the sites. I have invested in real estate for 30 years and have never worked with someone who went so far beyond the normal scope of work. He becomes a teammate. I can't thank him enough.""

""John is one of the best, most organized, and prompt Brokers I have ever dealt with. Kudos. If I am ever looking 'up north' again, John will be the first Broker I call or recommend.""

""John is an excellent agent and partner to help you find your land and/or home. He is swift to respond and provides excellent insight and advice on areas you may not have in mind when going into the process. We were looking for a property with a large amount of land, and his understanding of forestry was an enormous asset when assessing the land and the possibilities that it can provide. I highly recommend John!""
""My wife and I have listed a number of land properties with John. John brings three key things to the table: 1.) Knowledge of the market and all things related to selling, especially buyer contacts. 2.) He is a Maine licensed forester, which makes him technically more knowledgeable than most realtors and gives the client an in-depth understanding of their product. 3.) A down-to-earth straight shooter personality, as honest as the day is long, yet flexible and adaptable and always with a smile. He is our land realtor of choice. He will respect your interests and find the best-fit land for the seller and buyer. He isn't just in the business to make sales but is looking to find a good fit for both the seller and buyer. He truly enjoys the land he markets.""
""I had the privilege of working with both John and Becky on a few properties. I am incredibly pleased with how they handled business and got our properties sold. They had phenomenal communication during the process and went above and beyond for us. It was an absolute pleasure working with them. If you're in the Maine area and want to sell a property, work with them.""

""John Colannino proved to be exceptionally responsive, responsible, helpful, pleasant, and professional throughout the entire real estate experience. He provided a perspective that helped me work through my options. He never rushed me or made me feel uncomfortable. He contacted the local planning board to help me understand zoning requirements that were new and somewhat vague in the location where I was purchasing land, moving things along comfortably and thoroughly. I could not ask for a better experience. He is expeditious, personable, and extremely capable.""
