Black Hwy Tract

Rolling Hills, Pine, Hardwood

This large, forested tract sits on the north side of Black Highway (Hwy 5) in a quiet, rural area west of York. The Property is mostly upland, rolling hills with a few small creeks flowing through. Planted loblolly pine covers most of the land. Trees were established in 1995 on about 33 acres, in 2012 on about 60 acres, in 2017 on about 69 acres, and in 2021 on about 104 acres. All planted pine areas show good health and vigorous growth.

Mature hardwood totaling about 67 acres, runs along Reedy Branch and other, smaller waterways and also in upland patches. These trees vary in age but are generally more than 50 years old. Red and white oaks, yellow poplar, beech, and red maple are common. Deer are abundant and turkey tracks line the roads.

The land lays gently in many areas and numerous potential building sites can be found across broad, rolling ridges. Currently the tract is all wooded with no significant openings. Much of the land that is now in planted pine could be used for large food plots or pastures.

The property has frontage on Black Highway and three smaller roads: about 300 feet on Black Highway, about 700 feet on Allwood Road, about 700 feet on C.E. Stewart Road, and about 1,300 feet on Rocky Road.

There is no street address for the property. A rural fire station sits nearby at the address “3490 Black Hwy, York, SC 29745”. This can be used for GPS directions. Once there, go uphill to the west on Black Highway about 3,000 feet and look for signs by a gated woods road.

The town of York is about a 10-minute drive away and offers restaurants, doctors, churches, and several stores including Lowes hardware, Tractor Supply, and Food Lion Grocery. The tract is about 8 miles from York, 22 miles from Rock Hill, 20 miles from Gastonia, and 45 miles from Charlotte. All distances are approximate road miles to the center of town.
