Jake Thompson is a Forest Technician II and North Carolina Provisional Broker with
American Forest Management and AFM Real Estate in Troy, North Carolina. With more than
five years of hands-on experience in timber procurement, forestry operations, and forest
management, Jake brings a practical forestry background and a strong understanding of
land and timber resources to his growing real estate career.
Jake earned an Associate in Applied Science in Forest Management Technology from
Montgomery Community College and has spent his career working directly in the forests
and timber markets of North Carolina. His experience includes evaluating timber
resources, assisting with forest management activities, and working closely with
landowners to help them make informed decisions about the management and value of
their property. Through this work, he has developed valuable knowledge of timber markets
throughout the Piedmont region of North Carolina.
Jake joined American Forest Management in 2026 and has quickly become an integral part
of the Troy team. His day-to-day work with landowners, timber resources, and rural
properties provides a natural foundation for his expansion into land brokerage. In 2026,
Jake obtained his North Carolina Provisional Broker license and began building his real
estate career with AFM Real Estate.
As he grows within AFM Real Estate, Jake looks forward to combining his forestry
experience, local market knowledge, and landowner-focused approach to assist buyers
and sellers of timberland, recreational properties, farms, and other rural land throughout
central North Carolina.
Based out of AFM’s Troy office, Jake is committed to continuing to expand his knowledge
and experience while providing landowners and clients with practical, professional
guidance backed by the forestry and real estate resources of American Forest
Management.
