Charlotte, NC — American Forest Management (AFM) is proud to announce the appointment of Mike DiCarlo as Director of Acquisition and Disposition Services. DiCarlo brings over 15 years of forestry and real estate experience to this strategic leadership role, most recently serving as Associate Director of Timberland Transactions at Manulife Investment Management, where he helped execute over $3.0 billion in timberland sales across North America.

In his new role at AFM, DiCarlo will lead the company’s large-scale real estate program, overseeing domestic and international acquisition and disposition projects. He will be responsible for managing the full transaction lifecycle—from market analysis, due diligence, and valuation to sale process strategy, sale marketing, negotiation, and closing.

DiCarlo’s extensive background aligns directly with the responsibilities of this position, including his experience managing high-value transactions, building strategic relationships with institutional investors, government entities, and private buyers, and navigating the legal, financial, and operational aspects of complex land deals. He has also led renewable energy development, conservation easements, and value-add sale strategies—skills that will be pivotal as AFM focuses on adding value for clients in the land investment space from non-traditional sources.

“Mike’s ability to bridge strategic vision with execution makes him the ideal leader for this role,” said Chris Miller, Managing Director of Real Estate Services. “His transaction experience, industry credibility, client focus, and track record of driving value will strengthen our position as the nation’s leading land brokerage and consulting firm.”

DiCarlo holds a Master of Science in Forest Resources from Pennsylvania State University and a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Louisiana Tech University. His career has spanned progressive leadership roles in forest analytics, forest products, institutional investments, and real estate transactions, offering a rare blend of geographic exposure, technical expertise, and investment insight.
